I recently attended a 4K Camera Workshop with a handful of friends and associates which highlighted Digital Workflow from Image Capture to Editing - we all left the workshop with 'heads as dense as lead' and tons to think about re: Comparing our current resources with a studio packed with broadcast capability.
Nothing like sobering-up to what's out there!
Bristol Film & Video Society (BFVS) Bristol, UK:
As well as collaborating with colleagues to make Short Film etc. I decided to join the BFVS this year (paying a small subscription fee) to tap into an enthusiastic and self-sustaining pool of Film Makers (they're currently going through exciting times ie. undergoing major shifts in their overall vision and also in their practice as a group - in order to attract many more members and therefore keep up with the times.
Joining them will help to propel me forwards on a much more practical 'film making' level as I'm coming from more of an Actor, Writer and Director (more experience in small-scale Theatre than Film) perspective, as opposed to having tons of working knowledge and experience of Camera, Sound & Lighting.
MEETINGS ARE HELD at 7.30pm on the first and third Tuesdays of every month throughout the year at the Filton Town Council Pavilion, Elm Park, Filton, Bristol. BS34 7PS
